The City of Kent is responsible for the festivities at the park and a portion of the money for the fireworks. However, LMCA is responsible for the majority of the funds for the fireworks. We understand this year could be difficult for many of our usual benefactors. LMCA board members are soliciting donations from local businesses, association members, and surrounding neighborhoods. Unfortunately, we need $14,000-$18,000 to put on the 15-minute, professionally shot display the community has grown to love.
Do you know of a business that would be willing to contribute to this great event? If you have suggestions, please contact a board member and we will help craft a donation letter. Thanks for you support!

It's too bad that the show may not go on. I hope you will post new information on the website.
One suggestion would be to extend community association membership to those people who are near the lake, but not right on it, in surrounding neighborhoods.
You should also solicit donations through the Kent Reporter or other local newspapers who will lend a hand.
I have donated to this fireworks display for a couple of years. A relative of ours owns a home just off the water a few houses. The parties are always a good time for all, but he doesn't have full membership.

We are happy to extend an associate membership to those who are interested. Please call me at 253-639-0124. We, also, appreciate donations from the neighborhoods surrounding the lake. It's a community effort and we love it when others get involved!
